At Amber Glades you are encouraged to stay physically and mentally active and socially stimulated.

Amber Glades enjoys a prime location. It is situated along the Karkloof Road, just a 5-minute drive from Howick, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. You can enjoy the convenience of nearby shopping centres, restaurants, and service facilities, as well as a private hospital. Yet it is also only a stone’s throw away from some of the best natural scenery. This includes indigenous forests, conservation areas, waterfalls and accessible walking and biking trails and birding attractions.
We recognise the role pets play in peoples’ lives. One small dog is allowed, with approval.
Yes, Amber Glades has been designed for residents 60 years or older.
Yes, Amber Glades has been designed for wheelchair accessibility.
The apartments are sold unfurnished. They are newly fitted with a neutral palette enabling you to customise the interior decoration of your home in a way that reflects your personal taste and style. The show apartments have been decorated to give you a sense of the space and how it can best be utilised.
Yes, we offer beautifully furnished Guest Suites for friends and family visiting you. Meals are not included. This needs to be booked in advance at reception.
There is a laundry service available. Alternatively, should you prefer to do your own washing, you can install your own approved washer/dryer in your apartment.
Residents have access to communal garden areas and to a walking path within the development. Ground floor apartments have access to a private garden area that will be maintained and looked after by the management team.
Yes. A monthly meal allowance is included in your levy, giving you the flexibility to enjoy wholesome meals in the dining room, at the coffee shop, or delivered to your apartment for a small charge. Additional meals can easily be booked and paid for through the booking system.
Our catering team is headed by professionally trained chefs and all meals are freshly prepared in-house.
A shadeport parking bay is automatically included in the purchase price. Should there be additional parking bays available once all the apartments are occupied, additional parking bays may be purchased. Should you not require a parking bay, this amount will be deducted from the purchase price.
We welcome visitors at Amber Glades. All non-residents entering Amber Glades will be cleared by security at the entrance gate.
